Exemption Letter

Exemption Letter Exemption letter is an official document, which can be issued only by accredited certification body, for products, which do not fall under obligatory certification in Ukraine.

 

There are two types of exemption letters:

  • Exemption letter for trade activities
  • Exemption letter for customs clearance

There is practically no difference in texts of these letters, but customs authorities accept as the only letters, issued by certification bodies.

Which are accredited and authorized by State Committee of Ukraine for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy of Ukraine. Exemption letter for trading activities can be issued by any accredited certification body.

 

Exemption letter is being issued on official blank of the certification body with its stamp. Validity time is limited with 1 year.

Exemption letters for trade are usually needed in cases when products do not fall under obligatory certification system "UkrSepro".

The following documents are required:

  • HS code, product name
  • Technical description / Operating Instructions
  • Photo / Drawings
  • Agreement and invoice, as well as the legal address and tax number of the buyer
Some other documents can be required depending on type of products.
IMPORTANT! All the documents must be in Russian/Ukrainian languages.
