Potential changes in TR CU on electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices

On March 20, 2018 began public discussion of the draft amendments to the technical regulation of the Customs Union on "Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical devices" (TR CU 020/2011).

Public discussion of the draft changes to TR CU 020/2011 should be completed by April 16 of this year.

The update on TR ТС 020/2011 is aimed to ensure understanding uniformity and consistent fulfillment of its requirements in design, manufacturing and evaluation of equipment planned for release into circulation on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Important changes concern the conformity assessment (Article 7). Mentions of the expertise of technical documentation for ensuring electromagnetic compatibility of fixed installations have been excluded, due to the ambiguity in the mandatory testing of such devices. Electric appliances and appliances for domestic use that operate only from an autonomous power source with a nominal voltage of no more than 6V DC have been excluded from the list of technical devices that are subject to certification.

New version of the regulation will be effective no sooner than six months after the official publication of the decision to adopt the amendments.

We should remind that TR CU 020/2011 was approved by the Commission of the Customs Union № 879 on December 9, 2011 and is effective from July 1, 2013.
