The assessment of the regulatory impact of changes in the regulations on low-voltage equipment

On April 2, 2018 started the procedure of assessing the regulatory impact of the draft decision of the Eurasian Economic Committee’s Council "On amendment No. 1 to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the Safety of low voltage equipment" (TR CU 004/2011).

Draft changes No. 1 to the technical regulation on the safety of low-voltage equipment is aimed at clarifying the scope of application of technical regulations, specifying and supplementing the composition of terms, specifying the list of equipment subject to mandatory confirmation of compliance.

Thus, the conformity assessment for the compliance of low-voltage equipment that was in use and components of equipment that are available on the market only in the form of a finished product has been excluded from the list of requirements.

At the same time, cash register complete with a printing device has been added to the list of goods subject to certification TR CU 004/2011.

Also, the amendments offer the possibility of taking into account the acts of analysis of production of previously certified products with certification of new products from the same manufacturer.

As for the field of application, the project provides for more detailed description of the objects of technical regulation of the regulations and excludes duplication of other technical regulations of the Union.

The procedure for assessing the regulatory impact lasted 20 days and ended on 27 April.
